I have a love-hate relationship with eyeliner. My eyes get watery after staring too long at my laptop and I end up prodding my eye.
Panda-eyes, on top of my raccoon eye bags; I now have a zoo on my face.
Launched in July 2019, The Feisty Chick is a Singapore-founded cosmetic brand created to help makeup-fiends achieve flawless makeup effortlessly.
The Feisty Chick’s Winged Liner sets are not only designed to facilitate our failure to draw the perfect winged liner but its supposedly quick-drying, waterproof and smudge-proof.
Each winged liner set comprises of two products – one set of double-headed winged stamps for both left and right eyes and one felt tip liner.
The wing stamps come in a sassy style (S$34 per set) for the perfect cat-eye look and the sleek style (S$34 per set); a slimmer wing stamp created for the precise pointed look.
We decided to see how the product would work on two people who don’t have an affinity with winged liners and hardly ever wear makeup.
This was our second attempt and to be honest, it doesn’t look too bad!
There are quite a few eyeliner-stamp products in the market, however, what sets The Feisty Chick’s products apart is that it’s created with the Asian market in mind.
The products are really easy to use. The stamping might take a bit of practice to make sure that the wings on both eyes are even. The first time I stamped the eyeliner on, I did it too far away from the edge of my eye…
Word of advice, use a mirror and not your phone camera.
We then tested out their smudge-proof and waterproof claims. Although not encouraged, we rubbed our eyes as hard as we could. Guess what? It didn’t budge, at all.
In terms of it being waterproof, we took a wet piece of tissue and wiped it over drawn skin – the eyeliner immediately came off.
To clarify, the liner is apparently supposed to withstand splashes of water. So, you could probably shoot a romantic movie scene in the rain but maybe not rub a towel on your face after that. Splash-proof would be a more accurate claim.
Overall The Feisty Chick’s eyeliner set is a pretty easy concept to grasp. With two steps and a bit of practice, it might be the key to you being able to carry off the swish-and-flick (or in this case, stamp and flick) without the magic.
