10. The Substation Presents: A Public Square

A Public Square is a year-long programme that encourages discourse on how our physical spaces affect the way we think about our attitudes and ideas on the public sphere in Singapore. An event that stood out to me in the programme would be Stealing Public Spaces, an exhibition that discusses how public urban spaces are often a key factor in art.
This exhibition traverses the relationship with Southeast Asian art languages, intangible or symbolic public “sites” such as money, the city, maps, history and national anthems. This would not be your usual exhibition experience as several works request audience participation.

Location: 45 Armenian St, Singapore 179936
