Partying is always an escape from the mundanities of metropolitan living. And when it comes to letting loose, there’s always one pop-up series in Singapore we can count on.
Now on its fourth edition, Escape 56 is a nomadic home for house and techno pundits, having emerged from ever-changing locations like Aliwal Arts Centre, St. James Power Station, and even a hidden venue in the Henderson industrial area.
Along the same lines, this next instalment on 3 November 2017 will take place in a yet-disclosed warehouse location; a mystery that we’ve yet to crack.
A collaboration between Jagermeister and the BLACKOUT Agency — the latter founded by homegrown maverick of the dance scene, Zig Zach — this upcoming Escape 56 party will be headlined by one of Germany’s most revered DJs and producers, Roman Flugel. For the long-time ravers, this name is a big deal.
Versatile in his craft, the veteran of over two decades has all sorts of tricks up his sleeve. From the minimal techno framework of “Black Acid” to the Italo disco-teasing aesthetic of “Wilkie”, and the tribal anthem that took global dancefloors by storm, “Sliced Africa” — the evolving repertoire of Flugel cannot be tamed.
Come Escape 56, all of this will be unleashed.
Flugel will be opened by Indonesian tastemaker, Jonathan Kusuma, and Singapore’s own techno trooper, Yadin Moha. And keeping the local support going will be an exclusive photography exhibition by the nightlife scene’s pride and joy, Colossal Photos, responsible for documenting the hottest happenings in the industry.
Yearning for that great escape? Trust in Escape 56, and lose yourself ’til daybreak.
Date & Time: 3 November 2017, 10pm – late
