Whether the One Piece is real or not might be a hot debate amongst fans of the Shonen Jump production, but you definitely do not want to miss out on this real treasure trove in Hong Kong.

Presented by footwear brand Skechers, Ocean Park Hong Kong will be host to the largest ever One Piece interactive event, titled the Ocean Park Summer Water Battle. Fans will be able to relive the classic battle scenes from the manga series at the Waterfront Plaza, from 13 July – 1 September. Here is what you can expect from this pirate battle zone.

In the Ultimate One Piece Water War, fans can relive the Battle of Marineford– by actually taking part in it. Grab water guns, fight alongside the Straw Hat Pirates and dodge all sorts of water cannons and traps.
There will also be seven one piece encounters and photo spots in this zone, such as the Thousand Sunny pirate ship, the trademark ‘wanted’ posters, as well as a huge fountain in the shape of Luffy’s straw hat. More information will be released soon, so check out the Ocean Park website for more information.

The Whiskers Harbour attraction in the park will transform into a kids’ paradise, where the little pirates can have fun at a series of One Piece themed water attractions, such as a foam party zone and straw hat water-mist arches. They can also battle each other, and take pirate-themed photos with their loved ones.

What is a One Piece theme park without One Piece themed food? The Terrace Cafe has masterfully created the Summer Adventure Feast, a course meal with dishes inspired by the show that not only sounds delicious but also do the characters justice.
For example, Powerful Franky is a risotto that features a Franky cutout with a trench in it as a testament to the character’s strength. Luffy’s wanted poster is also skillfully transformed into a chocolate mousse cake. Don’t forget to grab a piece of devil fruit, who knows if the dessert version will also give you powers.

Of course, you will want proof that you have visited this limited-time-only One Piece attraction to show your friends back home. There are game booths where you can win Luffy and Chopper plushies alongside other limited edition merchandise. You may also purchase these items at the retail stores in the park while stocks last.

Enter The Abyss – VR Space Voyage, A VR free fall ride which is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. Put on the VR goggles, and you will be transported to outer space where you will then free-fall from. Whoever said that gravity didn’t exist there. While it may not exactly be a One Piece themed ride, it’s definitely worth the thrill.
