Have you been looking to sign up for DBS’ digital banking services but can’t bring yourself to leave your sofa? You can now do so within the comfort of your home.
Gone are the days where we will need to painstakingly type the string of confusing numericals and all that jazz. The new SingPass Face Verification feature is designed to make the digital banking registration process more intuitive and seamless with these four simple steps.
1. Download the digibank mobile app via Apple App Store, Google Play, or Huawei App Gallery.
2. Select “SingPass Face Verification” as the identity type and key in the corresponding information.
3. Take a selfie—the tool scans users face and matches it against your latest NRIC or passport photo from the Government biometric database almost instantaneously.
4. Upon successful matching, DBS sends an SMS-OTP to the user’s registered mobile number for verification.
With Singapore becoming a smart nation and an increasing use of digital services, one can only imagine the number of payments and transactions that will be made via our smart devices in the years to come. Who knows?
We might even do away with the physical card and become less reliant on the banknotes, banking hall, or even ATMs one day.
