Nike’s third day of Energy Week brings us to neon city with the launch of the Kobe IV Protro Wizenard (S$259) and the Nike x Olivia Kim Women’s Air Force 1 (S$199) collaboration.
The Kobe Wizenard is inspired by retired NBA basketball player Kobe Bryant’s best-selling children’s novel “Wizenard Series: Training Camp”; a novel focusing on the power and potential of team sports.
The pair of low-tops are covered in a neon splash of colour; a nod to his book cover. In contrast to the lively print, the tongue, laces, counter and back half of the midsole are in black.
A semi-transparent sole finishes off the compelling sneakers.
Nike X Olivia Kim collaborations are no stranger to the sneaker world. The 90s have constantly inspired Olivia to create collections based on downtown New York City (NYC). Combining the golden age of creative expression alongside her own desire for exclusive sneakers, she created the No Cover Collection.
This special edition of Air Force 1’s (AF-1) is inspired by the funky NYC rave scene in the 90s. The AF-1’s combine unconventional materials like corduroy and snakeskin.
Its upper is completely covered in a vibrant blue corduroy, accented by a neon yellow snakeskin heel tab and the iconic Nike swoosh.
It’s a definite party shoe, especially since the sneaker’s midsole and outsole are glow-in-the-dark. The NIKE x Olivia Kim AF-1’s are a clear-cut statement piece and bold form of expression.
Other Olivia Kim collaborations dropping today include the Women’s Air Mowabb (S$269), Women’s Air Footscape (S$229), Women’s Air Jordan IV (S$269) and Women’s Air Max’98 (S$269). Nike is also releasing the Air Jordan I’s in Track Red (S$239).
