Who doesn’t know Uniqlo — their clothes are simple, practical and everything but unique, which is ironic for a brand whose name is literally a portmanteau of Unique Clothes. It’s convenient and functional, yet tasteful and sharp. It is for these reasons that I absolutely adore Uniqlo.
There’s just something about the clean Japanese minimalistic style and approach in their clothes that appeal so dearly to me, in the same way that MUJI does. Marie Kondo’s code of “Less Is More” comes to mind — this notion that an absence of things frees up space for positive energy that translates so well in their overall aesthetic.
Every now and then, however, Uniqlo would add a bit of spice to their ramen by having collaborations with different fashion designers and artists, and sometimes even television shows or movies.
Most recently, to celebrate GUNPLA’s 40th Anniversary, Uniqlo just released a range of chic and simplistic graphic t-shirts in true Uniqlo fashion along with two exclusive GUNPLA Model Kits, guaranteed to make any Gundam fan drool in excitement.
If you are a Gundam afficianado or know someone who’s equally passionate, you can get your hands on these model kits for free by purchasing a minimum of two Gunpla 40th Anniversary tees with an added minimum spending of $100 from 7 August onwards.
This promotion is only available online and at Orchard Central, JEM, Bugis+, Jewel, Suntec City and VivoCity outlets.
Price: Free with purchase of any 2 GUNPLA 40th Anniversary UTs and minimum spend of $100.
