A new face in the media industry managed by TCP Artistes, Shawn Thia has already earned himself the title of a trailblazer, scoring major roles on local television. Some of his works include playing the younger version of Peter Yu on Channel 5’s ‘Fried Rice Paradise’ and later moved on to his first major supporting role as Julian on Channel 5’s first multi-lingual series, ‘128 Circle’. In this week’s edition of Spotify Saturdays, Shawn tells us the 5 songs that make up his life.
Tell us your name, and how you’d introduce yourself to someone whom you’re meeting for the first time.
Hello my name is Shawn Thia. Nice to meet you 🙂
What are the five tracks of your life?
1. Fix You – Coldplay
2. Brother – Kodaline
3. Us – James Bay
4. 好久不见 – Eason Chan
5. Wilderness Time – In The Branches
Why would you consider this playlist to be significant to you?
Music in general is like a key that unlocks different emotions from us… It was actually quite difficult choosing just 5… but what I chose accompanied through my different seasons of life!
Pick one track and tell me your fondest/most interesting memory of it.
As an actor, 好久不见 by Eason Chan is my go to song- especially to drive my emotions up to a point where I can fulfil a crying scene.
If I had asked you this question 10 years ago, what is the one track that your then-self would have picked as your favourite?
I was 15… I would probably pick any song from Big Bang.
